WHEN WILL YOUR ORDER ARRIVE? 

Each item is handmade to order. Please allow approximately 1 to 3 weeks for delivery on most orders. Sometimes we’re able to ship your purchase right away, but since our jewelry is handmade, the turnaround time for an order may depend on the availability of materials and on our production schedule during the busier times of the year. To find out which items are available for immediate delivery, or if you need expedited shipping on your order, please email us or call our customer service department.

SHIPPING

Orders over $100
All orders over $100 delivered within the United States are fully insured and ship FREE via UPS Ground.

Orders under $100
All orders under $100 delivered within the United States will have a standard $10 fee added to cover shipping, handling & insurance, and will ship via UPS Ground.

Other Shipping Options
UPS 2-Day air is available within the United States for $22.

UPS Overnight is available within the United States for $33.

UPS Priority Overnight is available within the United States for $38.

For priority overnight delivery, please contact Customer Service so that we can check whether this delivery service is available in your area.

NOTE Please be sure to provide us with a physical address for delivery, as UPS deliveries cannot be made to P. O. boxes.

International
Allyson Smith jewelry is made in Brooklyn, NY (USA). International shipping fees vary by country. Please email us at info@allysonsmith.com for information on mailing rates. Duties and taxes on orders shipped internationally are the sole responsibility of the customer.

 

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

Exchange/Credit Policy 
We want you to love what you buy from us! Upon request, we will gladly make adjustments to your purchase for a more customized fit when possible. Please contact Customer Service to discuss your options, and allow up to 3 weeks for alterations or exchanges. 

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return the item to us within 14 days of receipt. Upon receipt of your returned merchandise, AllysonSmith Jewelry will issue a store credit or a prompt exchange at your request. Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable, and we do not offer monetary refunds on returned items. Unfortunately we are not able to make exceptions to this policy. We are a small business which maintains high quality standards while keeping our prices reasonable, and handcrafting our merchandise in America. Our policy reflects the time, attention & labor involved in making each piece especially for you when your order is placed. 

Please note that we do not accept returns on damaged or tangled merchandise, or on items that have been worn. 

Gift Returns/Exchanges
If you have received your Allyson Smith jewelry as a gift, please let us know. We can extend the exchange/credit deadline to reflect the time between the purchase date and the date you received the item(s).

 

RETURN SHIPPING POLICY 

Getting a Return Authorization
Before returning an item to us for store credit or exchange, you must call or email Customer Service to receive an Exchange or Credit Authorization Number for your transaction. After you receive your authorization number, please ship the merchandise back to us at the following address:

Any item returned to us for credit or exchange must be in new condition, carefully secured in its original packaging and safely shipped back to us INSURED for the full value of the merchandise and sent via a trackable method in case of loss during return shipping. Please use a hard, durable box or protective case to ensure that the jewelry is not damaged in transit.

 

GIFT CARDS & GIFT BOXES

Each item is shipped in a tarnish-protection bag inside our signature suede pouch, and comes with a signature Allyson Smith Fine Jewelry gift box.

Gifts
We wrap each gift box with a hand-tied pink ribbon, and we're happy to include a complimentary gift card containing a personalized message from you. We use biodegradable packing popcorn to cushion our jewelry during shipping so it arrives in perfect condition. There is no additional charge for this service.

Gift Cards
Can't decide on a gift? Send an Allyson Smith Fine Jewelry gift card instead. We offer gift cards in the denomination of your choice, starting at $25. The card arrives in a silver presentation envelope wrapped in a hand-tied pink ribbon, along with a complimentary gift message card. We ship the gift card presentation package in a box with biodegradable packing popcorn. There is no additional charge for this service beyond standard shipping charges.

 

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SCALE OF OUR JEWELRY? 

Generally, we photograph our jewelry as simply and as close-up as possible to allow you to see the fine details of each piece. But experience has taught us that this style of photography can sometimes skew your sense of size and scale, making certain items seem larger and/or somewhat less delicate than they are in real life. To help you accurately envision the size of our jewelry and its proportions relative to those of the person who’s going to be wearing it, we provide the measurements of each item we sell. We encourage you to use a ruler or tape measure to check the dimensions of the jewelry you plan to order, to verify the size of a stone or the length of a necklace, or to make sure a bracelet will be a good fit for your wrist. If you have lingering concerns, please feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to send you additional photos or to help you choose the right pieces to suit your unique style and size.

 

CUSTOM JEWELRY 

We love creating made-to-order items, and we specialize in designing custom pieces for brides and bridal parties. Call or email us with your vision, and together we’ll bring it to life. Prices are based on materials and labor. If you prefer 18 karat gold to 14 karat gold, or white gold rather than yellow, let us know; we can usually accommodate such requests. Please note that there is an additional charge for 18 karat gold. Brides: discounts are available on orders of multiples, regular custom pieces or through our regular web site. NATURAL GEMSTONE VARIATIONS 

Allyson Smith jewelry is made from only the highest quality hand-selected natural gemstones. Please note that stones may contain slight variations in color and shape due to their natural origins and the fact that they are cut by hand. They may also feature natural inclusions. These are all hallmarks of gemstones created by nature (as opposed to synthetic varieties), and are part of their earthy beauty. JEWELRY CARE 

Always treat handmade jewelry with care. These items are naturally more delicate than their mass-produced counterparts. Remove jewelry before bathing or exercising; never expose it to cleansers, perspiration or any products that contain alcohol, including perfume. Never crush or bend jewelry items, no matter how sturdy they may seem. Don’t tug on gemstones or other components, and avoid leaving jewelry in a heap when you’re finished wearing it.

Necklaces 
To avoid tangles, hang your necklace as soon as you take it off, or store half of it in a small sealable plastic bag, then place the entire necklace in a larger bag, pouch or box.

Earrings 
Never pinch, crush or bend–especially hoops! Help earrings maintain their shape and avoid tangles by storing them in their original packaging or by hanging them on an earring stand.

 

REPAIRS 

We will gladly perform repairs at no charge on items that have been damaged during normal usage, within 6 months of purchase. Tangled chains can be replaced or restored to their original condition for a materials & labor fee. 

 

ALLYSON SMITH JEWELRY'S ETHICAL COMMITMENT 

We strive to make environmentally responsible choices in the creation of our jewelry, from design to the production process.

Metals
We take pride in the fact that 98% of the precious metals we use are recycled. In choosing these materials, we are reducing the globally destructive impact of mining by reducing the demand for newly mined metals. Because precious metals can be recycled repeatedly with no negative effect on their quality or appearance, they are a naturally renewable resource. Most of our findings (the small components used in most jewelry design) are hand-cast using 100% recycled metals. When we do purchase these items from suppliers, we try our best to find those manufactured using recycled gold.

Diamonds
We purchase diamonds only from suppliers who comply with The Kimberly Diamond Act of 2003, which seeks to ensure that all diamonds imported into the United States are certified to have been mined by legitimate companies under humane working conditions, and that none are connected to the funding of illegal activities in their countries of origin.

Labor Practices
The manufacture of much of the mass-produced jewelry available in the United States is outsourced to foreign countries where labor practices are sometimes inhumane and environmental standards may be poorly enforced or nonexistent. This reduces bottom-line costs for jewelry manufacturers, but we believe it does not give the proper priority to issues of worker health and safety, and ultimately it negatively impacts the quality of the finished product as well. Each piece of Allyson Smith Jewelry is made by hand at our studio in Brooklyn, New York, where we hold ourselves to high standards of social and environmental consciousness.

 

GEMSTONES: FROM THE MINE TO YOUR JEWELRY 

Each of our gemstones goes through at least 15 different sets of hands before it reaches you. After leaving the mine, a stone is cut to size, then shaped by a number of specialty cutters who focus on various aspects of its facets. Next the stone is drilled, polished, assessed for quality, weighed, packaged, shipped to New York, quality checked by a group of local stone cutters, then passed along to the designer. Allyson examines each, then chooses the best ones to make sure her jewelry features only the highest quality gemstones. We work with highly skilled specialty gemstone cutters, primarily from a small, family-owned gemstone company based in India.

 

WHOLESALE 

Wholesale orders can be placed by calling 718-522-2878. Please allow 3 to 8 weeks for delivery. A merchant ID and a signed Purchase Agreement are required to place an opening order, and all wholesale orders require a minimum purchase of $600.
